Davide Lombritto is an Italian sackbut and trombone player based in Geneva, Switzerland. He is an enthusiastic musician and educator and his main goal is to help people through music to connect with their emotions and to understand themselves better. In July 2020 he recorded his second early music CD with the ensemble Capella Itineris and is currently working on his next recording entirely dedicated to the original repertoire for baroque alto trombone.
In January 2020 Davide was invited to participate in the European tour of the ensemble Cappella Mediterranea and the Namur Chamber Choir performing Claudio Monteverdi’s Orfeo at the Concertgebouw Hall in Amsterdam and at the Royal Opera in Versailles, under the baton of Leonardo García Alarcón. After the tour he participated in the recording of the same opera, that took place in Antwerp, for the label Alpha Classics – Outhere Music.
From 2013 to 2017 he was invited as an intern at the Orchestra Accademia del Teatro alla Scala in Milan and at the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Geneva. There he performed a lot of symphonic repertoire, opera, ballet and chamber music, in famous concert halls like Teatro alla Scala in Milan and Teatro San Carlo in Napoli, under the direction of renowned conductors like Jonathan Nott and Fabio Luisi.
Born in Enna, Italy, Davide studied at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva (HEM), obtaining a master’s degree with distinction in early music performance and a master’s degree with specialization in orchestra performance. He currently carries out an intense teaching activity of trombone and music theory in France and Switzerland.
